What to Expect

During the peel, most people experience a warm to hot sensation or a stinging effect for a few seconds. A cooling fan will be provided. Please mention any history of cold sores, Accutane use, or antibiotic therapy before your chemical peel treatment.

Reactions to chemical peels are similar to a sunburn. Generally, the deeper the peel, the longer the side effects.

• Light peel: Some redness and light shedding for a few days

• Deeper peel: Mild swelling and flaking, followed by more pronounced peeling
